On 15 November, the West Coast Region came alive for the 2025 Inter-School Cycling Championship, organised by WYCE and Save Life Gambia and hosted at Jamisa Upper & Senior Secondary School.

Twelve schools took part, each entering three senior students—two boys and one girl—making a field of 36 riders.

All bicycles used in the event were Re-Cycle donations rebuilt and prepared by WYCE’s mechanics.

To keep riders fuelled and safe in the heat, all students were provided with meals both before and after their races.

WYCE also supplied cycling clothing donated by supporters—including kit from Rapha—helping level the playing field and giving every rider the chance to compete comfortably and confidently.
