Field Trip to The Bicycle Empowerment Network, South Africa

The first field trip of 2022 was a visit to our partner, The Bicycle Empowerment Network (BEN) in Cape Town, South Africa and took place from Saturday 30th April to Saturday 7th May 2022. Chris, Our Workshop Mechanic accompanied Charlotte, our Africa Partner Manager on this trip to meet the team and carry out some bike mechanic training to the Bicycle Empowerment Centre (BECs) mechanics.

The trip was very successful, meeting the BEN team, understanding their work within the communities of Cape Town, meeting the BECs owners and better understanding their bicycle related needs and providing them with training to equip them with more skills to help them fix and maintain the bikes they buy from BEN and then sell onto their communities.
