We Have A New African Partner in Sierra Leone!

We are so excited to announce that we have a new African Partner!

Following a visit in March this year, we are very proud to bring the Village Bicycle Project in Sierra Leone onboard as a new African partner for Re-Cycle.

Village Bicycle Project (VBP) aims to empower communities by strengthening bicycle culture. Their development projects focus mainly on the prevention and relief of poverty, especially for women and girls. By working in rural areas, they are also focusing on communities that are most in need, who often are not supported by development programs due to the remote locations.

The need for bicycles can be seen throughout rural communities where roads are bad and public transport is not available, dangerous and expensive. Cycling is an attractive choice for entire communities, as improved mobility enables growth in productivity with better access to jobs, schools and healthcare, not to mention the environmental and health benefits of cycling.

We are so pleased to have VBP, Sierra Leone as a new partner for Re-Cycle in 2023. Their fantastic programme work supports so many rural communities to enable them to have access to affordable, sustainable transport and Re-Cycle are very excited to play a key role in their work. We are looking forward to sending them their first container of bicycles in July and developing the partnership over the coming years’. Charlotte Ward, Director
