Inspiring Sierra Leone’s Future Cyclists

Help us raise £750 and support the cycling in Sierra Leone.

The Tour de Lunsar is Sierra Leone’s biggest cycling race, showcasing the power of bicycles to change lives.

This year, we’re proud to support the under-15s race, featuring 60 young participants.

This event is about more than competition – it’s about encouraging young people to discover cycling, gain confidence, and build a brighter future.

Our Goal: To Raise £750

We’re raising funds to cover:

  • A post-race meal for all participants – celebrating their efforts with a well-deserved meal.
  • Winner’s jerseys for the champions – matching the prestigious jerseys awarded in the men’s and women’s races.
  • Goodie bags for all participants – encouraging them to stay engaged with cycling.
  • Race organisation support – ensuring a smooth and professional event.

Why Cycling Matters

Cycling is more than a sport in Sierra Leone. It provides a positive alternative to street life, teaches discipline and teamwork, and offers a sense of purpose.

For many, bikes also improve access to education, healthcare, and work opportunities.

The Team on the Ground

Two members of the Re-Cycle team will be attending the event to provide hands-on support. One of them, a skilled bike mechanic, will ensure the participants’ bikes are in top condition.

Many of the bikes used in the race are Re-Cycle bikes, donated by generous individuals across the UK, making your support even more impactful.
