Working Towards More Impact…
It’s been a busy and exciting week here at Re-Cycle! Our warehouse has undergone some fantastic changes with the addition of a new mezzanine extension. We’re thrilled to share this news with you. The project kicked off bright and early on Monday, April 29th, and it went up in less than a week. Massive kudos to the team of installers who worked so efficiently.
So, what does this mean for Re-Cycle and our mission to provide bicycles to communities in Africa?
Well, it means we can now store more bikes than ever before. Last year our warehouse was bursting at the seams with bikes, generously donated by our supporters and partnerships. Space was at a premium, and we often found ourselves struggling to find areas to prep bikes for loading onto containers bound for Africa.
Thanks to our newly installed mezzanine extension, those challenges are now a thing of the past. Not only are we able to accommodate more bikes, but we’ve also reclaimed valuable space previously allocated to bike donations. This means our bikes for sale area, which became slightly cramped, will now have more room to shine.
In addition to the mezzanine upgrade, our fantastic team has been hard at work giving the warehouse a makeover. We’ve spruced up the paintwork internally and externally to make it look fresher and more inviting.
We’re incredibly grateful for this opportunity to expand our operations and make an even bigger impact on the lives of individuals and communities in Africa. None of this would be possible without the support of our generous donors, dedicated volunteers, and passionate staff.
As we look ahead, our goal for this year is to ship 22 containers to our partners in Africa. That’s more than 11,000 bikes rescued from UK landfills, each one making a positive impact on lives across Africa.
