Building Futures Together: CPF Zambia Visits Re-Cycle HQ
Bikes to Africa
We were delighted to welcome Willard Chitimbo, Director of Care Provider Foundation (CPF) Zambia, and his wife Given Chitimbo back to the Re-Cycle warehouse this week. Their last visit was in 2023, and it was lovely to reconnect and hear first-hand the incredible impact Re-Cycle bikes are having across Zambia.
Willard shared:
“We really appreciate what Re-Cycle is doing for the people of Africa.”
CPF, our long-standing partners in Zambia, use the bicycles we send to improve lives in some of the most remote communities. Some bikes are donated directly to those most in need, while others are sold at affordable prices to fund vital local development projects. The income from these sales enables CPF to:
-
Drill and maintain boreholes, providing clean, safe water
-
Build school facilities, including washrooms and teachers’ accommodation
-
Distribute sanitary towels to help girls stay in school all term
-
Support community-led development across education, health, and hygiene
Willard shared how valued Re-Cycle bikes are in Zambia, with customers often commenting on their strength and long-lasting quality. He expressed appreciation for the bikes, spare parts, and tools included in each shipment—noting they are of far better quality than what is available locally. These items not only help CPF maintain bikes more effectively but also support the development of technical skills within their communities.
While they were here, Willard and Given had the chance to witness one of our containers being loaded — this one heading to The Gambia. They got stuck in and even lent a hand, gaining a new appreciation for the careful process behind every shipment.
We’re incredibly proud of our partnership with Care Provider Foundation and the sustainable impact it’s making in Zambia — made possible thanks to the continued support from people like you.
