Re-Cycle is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Board of Trustees. As a trustee, you will play a strategic role in ensuring our charity fulfils its purpose, complies with charity law, and achieves its objectives as outlined in our strategic plan.
Our trustees are ambassadors for Re-Cycle, actively engaging with the organisation and supporting its growth. It is expected that trustees will utilise their skills, knowledge, and experience to contribute to informed decision-making by the board. We are particularly interested in individuals who can help expand our reach, including by engaging potential donors and partners.
This is a voluntary role, offering a unique opportunity to make a real impact by helping people in Africa gain access to life-changing bicycles. We welcome applications from both experienced board members and those new to trustee roles.
Skills & Experience
We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in:
- Legal & Governance: Charity and company law, regulation, and data protection
- Financial Oversight: Audit, fundraising, and income generation
- Technology & Security: Cybersecurity and risk management
Time Commitment
Trustees are expected to:
- Attend quarterly board meetings and review materials in advance
- Actively promote Re-Cycle and participate in at least one public event annually
- Engage in email correspondence to discuss and make decisions between meetings
- Support internal staff and volunteer social events where possible
