Bikes to Ghana
“The three-hour daily walk to school was draining my dreams of becoming a nurse. Since receiving my bicycle from Village Bicycle Project and partners, I arrive energized and on time. My grades are improving significantly, and my confidence has soared. I hope more students can receive bikes to transform their education journey like mine.”
Bikes to Ghana
This is what drives us at Re-Cycle. One bike from the UK doesn’t just help Vida—it’s part of a bigger shift in rural Ghana. Kids are skipping fewer classes, showing up in better shape, and getting a real shot at education. Attendance is climbing, and that sets more students up to stick it out and build something for themselves. Plus, these bikes run on pedal power, so it’s good for the planet too. Every morning Vida rides those 5 miles, she’s proof of what a donated bike can do—breaking down walls and rolling her closer to her dreams. We train mechanics in Africa to keep those wheels turning, and with every bike donated here in the UK, we’re hoping to get more kids like Vida where they need to be.
