We don’t just send bikes.

Re-Cycle builds lasting partnerships with local communities and NGOs across Africa.

We provide the tools, training, and knowledge they need to repair, maintain, and sustain the bicycles long into the future. By supporting local skills and bicycle-related economies, we help create real, sustainable social change.

We work with partners on “cycle to school” projects that help students get to school safely and quickly. By reducing travel time from hours of walking to a short bike ride, more children especially girls can attend school regularly and stay in education longer.

We run training programmes that turn local people into skilled bicycle mechanics. These mechanics not only repair bikes but also build sustainable livelihoods, generating income while serving their communities.

Many of our partner organisations sell a portion of the bikes locally. The profits are reinvested directly into their community — maintaining boreholes, funding school programmes, and supporting local healthcare centres.

A strong focus of many projects is empowering girls and women. We help them learn to ride, gain confidence, and increase their mobility, which promotes greater equality and independence in their communities.
