The Big Give Christmas Challenge is a week-long fundraising campaign that allows donations to be doubled through match funding. Re-Cycle is taking part from Tuesday 1 to Tuesday 8 December 2026, with the aim of raising £9,800 to support our work getting unwanted bikes to communities in Africa.

Thanks to pledges from charitable trusts, businesses and individual supporters, alongside Champion funding from the Big Give, donations made through our campaign page can be matched pound for pound. This means a £10 donation becomes £20 for Re-Cycle, at no extra cost to you.

The campaign opens at 12 noon on Tuesday 1 December and closes on Tuesday 8 December. Only donations made through our dedicated Big Give campaign page during this period will be eligible for match funding.

You can donate whatever amount you’d like. Every donation helps, and eligible donations will be matched pound for pound while match funding is available.

Yes. If you’re a UK taxpayer, you can usually add Gift Aid to your donation, increasing its value to Re-Cycle at no extra cost to you. The Big Give donation process will give you the option to confirm your eligibility.

Your donation will help Re-Cycle collect unwanted bikes across the UK, prepare them for shipping and send them to our partners in Africa. The bikes are then repaired and maintained by local mechanics, helping people access education, work, healthcare and other essential services.
